LOCATION... It's everything!
First thing first, customers should be able to find you, in the biggest space on the planet..online.
Every minute that you are not online, you lose the chance of any potential ideal customers finding you.
All ideal customers own smart phones, tablets, or other devices that will connect them to the web and most of them do not have the time to thumb thru a phonebook.
Mostly all ideal customers will have a need for your business/services offered and they expect the best from you.
A main factor in our daily lives today is safety, and customers expect safety when they enter your place of business. Location is everything which is one of the reasons I choose to lease and not own. I’m extremely concerned with an area being ‘hot’ one-while and then not so hot later. In that event I would need to change my location to continue to attract ideal customers.
Locations can be high-end and swanky or intimately located in a residential area or in a downtown area. Where ever your business is located, put on the shoes of a customer and ask yourself, ‘would I shop here’.
The answer should be a definite yes. If not, figure solid reasons the answer is not yes and make changes…RELOCATE
I remember going to the Oakbrook Mall for the first time. When I got near it I saw so many luxury vehicles and mansions. When I got to the mall I thought there was a car show for Bentleys going on. No, these were people at the mall shopping that day.
I knew then this was the location for me! These were by all means ideal customers.
The next challenge was finding a shop to work in. I chose one within walking distance from the mall. One that was freshly decorated and welcoming to IDEAL customers. It was at that moment I knew for sure that location was EVERYTHING!
So if you're planning on going into business or if your business is struggling consider the location, it makes a world of difference.

Optimizing Potentials
While at my salon yesterday I had to go into a room to grab some supplies. The first thing I thought was "wow, I haven't been in here in weeks! This place is HUGE."
I immediately start thinking about the potentials of this room and the entire salon.
I summed it up to every space in my salon should generate money, including my waiting and reception area.
I realized that there are enough closets, nooks and cranny for storage instead of using not one, but TWO rooms that have the potential of becoming something profitable.
Look around to see how many more potentials are within your business, you may surprise yourself.

Rules To This..
So you want to start your own business? My suggestion is to GO FOR IT!
I feel this is the best time to start a business of your own. One reason being banks aren't lending any money so you'll have to fund yourself which is good and therefore you'll work harder at running your business.
Two, you won't have a bank breathing down your throat or seizing any of your property if the business fails and you can't make any loan payments.
It's more than a notion, and there are rules to this.
